Contributions Montesquieu made to the Enlightment 

Montesquieu established important and influential political ideas of all time! His ideas were realistic which captured peoples attention. Montesquieu aimed to create a government where everyone had a say and there wasn't a specific person in charge. During the time he was thinking that through he also kept in mind that not all people are the same so depending on their culture, there could be some people who were going to be completely against him but some people who would be with him. He believed no matter what, people could reason with it. Montesquieu wanted to promote trade more. He thought that people would rather have competition than cooperation and acceptance. While all the thoughts were rambling through his head, he published his book "Spirit of laws". Montesquieu had a lot of many influencers, some were John Locke,

Thomas Hobbes, Adam Smith, Cartesio, Jean Bodin, and many more. Montesquieu's ideas are now very popular in the United States of America. "The Spirit of Laws" was one of the biggest impacts on our modern society. â€‹
